Guidelines for Healthy Events

By attending in-person SOMA Families Meetup events, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people are present. You and any guests attending a SOMA Families Meetup event voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, as well as any risks of personal injury from participating in the event, and agree not to hold SOMA Families Meetup; the venue; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury. You agree to follow state and local health guidelines, as well as any health guidelines stated by SOMA Families event organizers.

When to Stay Home

You must not attend events if you or anyone in your household have:

  • Had contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with or is suspected to have COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks

  • Had any of the following symptoms in the past 2 weeks

Not all conditions are listed, but please stay home for any illness that poses a risk of spreading harmful disease to others.

  • COVID-19 (coronavirus) symptoms or exposure

  • Antibiotics: Any condition that requires oral or topical antibiotics

  • Fever 100 degrees or above: Must be fever-free for 72 hours without fever-reducing medicine to attend events

  • Cold symptoms: Runny or stuffy nose, scratchy throat, coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, or severe cough

  • Vomiting or diarrhea 

  • Rash

  • Strep throat

  • Hand, foot, and mouth disease (caused by the Coxsackievirus)

  • Conjunctivitis (commonly called “pink eye”) 

  • Lice


Tips for Staying Healthy

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home when sick and avoid close contact with others.

  • Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing and throw away tissues.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
